Delta: Consultant explains delay in commencement of Operation ‘Show your LG Unified Permits’

The Sole Revenue Consultant authorized by Delta State Chapter of Association of Local Government of Nigeria, ALGON, to collect waste sanitation basket permit, motor pack permit, loading and offloading permit, mobile sales/supply haulage permit, liquor and all other mobile stickers emblem permits for 2020, HASCKEF GEE Nigeria, says the decision to enforce ‘Operation Show your LG Unified Permits’ from Tuesday February 25 as against Wednesday January 15, was occasioned by the need to give the exercise a human face.

The Chief Executive Officer, CEO of HASCKEF GEE Nigeria Limited, Mr. Kenneth George, who gave the explanation in Warri Monday February 17 during a press briefing, stated that several owners of commercial and company vehicle owners in the state pleaded for more time to enable them obtain the permits.

Delta State ALGON, in a statement signed by its Secretary, Hon. Victor Ebonka, had explained that the decision to engage HASCKEF GEE, as the Sole Revenue Consultant in the 25 local government areas of the state, was, “to eliminate the issue of double taxation and indiscriminate harassment of the affected vehicle owners.”

The body of local government chairmen warned in the statement that unauthorized person or persons, “found in the production and sale of permits, will be visited with the full weight of the law”, adding that religious organizations are exempted from paying for mobile advertisements on their vehicles.

Vehicle owners have been advised to deal with revenue enforcers of HASCKEF GEE, who will be wearing uniforms and bearing identity cards as well as obtain the mobile stickers in the Unified Local Government Council offices in the state, in a bid to avoid falling prey to the activities of touts.

It was also stressed that further clarifications should be directed to the Consultant’s headquarter office at Warri South Council Main Secretariat, Warri.
