It's only in sports that Nigerians speak in one voice – School Principal

The Principal of College of Commerce, Warri in Delta State, Mr. Felix Useh, says it is only in sports that Nigerians speak in one voice, to achieve success in competitions.

                     

Mr. Useh made the declaration Thursday February 20, during the 53 Inter-House Sports Competition of College of Commerce, Warri.

 

He commended the Delta State Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, Chief Patrick Ukah, Chairman of Warri South Local Government Area, Dr. Michael Tidi, Chief Inspector of Education, Warri South, Post Primary Education Board Zonal Office, Warri as well as College of Commerce Old Students’ Association, for their support to the school.

 

Chairman of Warri South Local Government Area, Dr. Michael Tidi, who was represented by the Vice Chairman of Warri South Local Government Area, Chief (Mrs.) Divine Ann Iniovosa, disclosed that Warri South was committed to the development of sports in Warri and all schools, across the local government area.

 

Dr. Tidi assured that his administration was willing to support schools in the area as a result of his love for education.

 

Our Senior Correspondent reports that the event featured catching College of Commerce Line Dressing Competition, 100 metres race for boys and girls, 200 metres race for boys and girls (senior and junior) 400, 800 as well as 1,500 metres race for boys and girls.

 

 

Green House, Pink House, Purple House, Yellow House, Blue House and Red House, competed for honours, with Purple House emerging overall winner.

 

Pink House took second position, while Green House won the third position.

 

High point of the event was presentation of trophies to the winners by Chief Divine Iniovosa, Vice President College of Commerce Old Students’ Association, COCOSA , Mrs. Gladys Oyen, members of COCOSA and Principals of secondary schools in Warri South.
