The Police from A’ Division in Warri, Delta State, at about 11:30am today, Monday August 10, gunned down an unknown armed robbery suspect along Ejemudaro Road in Okumagba Layout in the heart of the Oil City of Warri.
Fresh Angle International understands that the dead suspect, was reported to be member of a three-man robbery gang that operated on tricycle along Olamat Street, off Ejemudaro Road.
It was gathered that the Police patrol team on surveillance in the area, received a distress call that three men suspected to be robbers, were operating on tricycle and the team immediately swung into action.
According to the report, on sighting the police patrol team, the robbers allegedly opened fire at the patrol team and the police team reportedly returned fire, hitting the dead suspect, while the other two members of the gang escaped with the tricycle, one locally made cut-to-size single barrel gun and one live cartridge.
Two expended cartridges, were allegedly recovered from the suspect, who was confirmed dead at Central Hospital, Warri, where he was reportedly rushed to for medical attention.
