Senior Special Assistant to Delta State Governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa on Political Matters, Mr. Matthew Poko Opuoru says “the massive spread of infrastructural projects being executed across Delta State”, by the Okowa administration “is rubbishing the much talked about recession in the country”.

The Governor's Aide who was the immediate past Commissioner, Special Duties in Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission, DESOPADEC,stated that road projects such as the ongoing NPA Bye-Pass, Apala Street, Esisi Road and Estate Round -About in Warri South Local Government Area,Ugborikoko Road in Uvwie Local Government Area as well as several others spread across the three senatorial districts in the State, makes it easy for the most unrepentant critic to applaud Okowa's strides.

According to Mr. Opuoru, the drop in the monthly Federal allocation accruing to Delta State, coupled with its attendant decline in internally generated revenue, IGR, amid huge wage burden, emphasizes the ingenuity and experience Dr. Okowa has brought to bear in governance.

The Okere -Urhobo ,Warri born PDP Chieftain who spoke to Fresh Angle International in an exclusive chat Saturday March 4 in Warri, opined that with the execution of various road projects,Youth Agricultural Entrepreneurship Programme,YAGEP, Skill Training and Entrepreneurship Programme, STEP and the Graduate Employment Enhancement Programme,GEEP,Dr. Okowa administration has created thousands of jobs despite the economic downturn in the country.

He stressed, “Governor Okowa has transformed my ancestral home, Otor-Orere in Okere-Urhobo to paradise with the commissioning of internal roads which has greatly boosted commercial and social activities, with its resulting positive effect on the economy of Warri. He has equally invested heavily on education in less than two years in office”.

Mr. Matthew Poko Opuoru
