Deeply concerned and committed to eradicate hunger, foster food sufficiency, create jobs and grow the nation's economy, the first Asaba indigenous rice farmer has vowed to make Asaba, the hub of rice production in Nigeria.

Speaking to Newsmen in Asaba, Hon. Chief Frank Chiedu Okolie, (A.K.A Igwe Owali), as Asaba's first indigenous rice farmer, proudly shared that his farm is the nation's hope and dream of food sufficiency and at an affordable rate too.

Born into the ever progressive and industrious Okolie family in Umuezeafadia village, Ajaji Quarters of Asaba, Hon. Chief Okolie is proudly at the helm of affairs of the technologically advanced and mechanized Igwe Owali Farm.

Igwe Owali Farm is presenting to the world her home grown and indigenous brand, Afadia Rice, with the best natural nutritious value.

Rice cultivation, post harvest mechanized processing and marketing of well packaged rice for local, national and international consumption is the farm's chief production.

The farmer cum one time House of Representatives Aspirant for Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency noted that his farm on a 10 hectare mangrove swampy farmland has innovation and modern technologies that can drive the farm's commitment.

The farm located at Appallata phase 2, within the Umueze-Afadia Farm Land, along Achalla-Ibusa Road, Asaba, has a 30 acres of well cultivated rice farm, with yam and corn planted on 3 and 4 acres respectively.

Igwe Owali Farm's commitment to feed the nation and the globe is progressively pursued with a two acre water melon and cucumber plantation.

A carefully cultivated one acre of groundnut farmland plus another one acre farmland of Millet and Sorghum, stamps the farm's seal of commitment to their dream of a hunger free world.

This is made possible by the state of the art of rice cultivation equipment and ultra modern mechanized rice processing mill at the farmland.
