Warri South SLG joins chairmanship race, to consolidate on Edema’s strides

Former Deputy Leader of Warri South Legislative Arm and current Secretary to Warri South Local Government, Hon. Bawo Alex Nanna has joined chairmanship race of Warri South Local Government ahead of the forthcoming Delta State Local Government election, Fresh Angle International can authoritatively report.

Hon. Nanna who made his intention known Tuesday August 15 when he paid a consultative visit to elders and leaders of PDP in Ode-Itsekiri, his ward, assured that he will consolidate on the strides of the Hon. Matthew Mofe Edema administration.

The ex-lawmaker mentioned areas that he will improve upon if given the mandate to become the next Chairman of Warri South Local Government to include environmental sanitation, provision of basic social amenities to the urban, rural and riverine communities of the council as well as proper management of internally generated revenue.

He also promised to focus on skill acquisition programme for youths and ensure adequate care for the aged, just as he canvassed for the peoples’ support to enable him actualize his chairmanship ambition.

Our Senior Correspondent reports that two other aspirants, Hon. Oris Eyikimi and Fombo Misan also told party leaders of their intensions to vie for legislative seats in the Local Government poll whose date is yet to be determined by the Delta State Independent Electoral Commission, DSIEC.

While Hon. Oris Eyikimi who is the incumbent Councilor representing Ode-Itsekiri Ward in Warri South Council legislature signified his intention to re-contest for the same position, Fombo Misan told his ward leaders and party faithful of his ambition to represent Orugboh ward in the next Warri South Council Legislature.

They promised to always consult their constituents if elected with a view to attracting democratic dividends to their wards.

The Chairman of Ode-Itsekiri Ward, Blessing Egbiaye and Pa. Benson Lori, an elder in the PDP, promised Hon. Nanna, Hon. Eyikimi and Fombo Misan of their support should they emerge candidates of PDP.
