The Delta State Chapter Coordinator, Prof. Tunde Adeniran’s National chairmanship bid, Hon. Andaye Dagidi has tasked members of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, particularly delegates to vote wisely on the choice of who will become the party national chairman in the forthcoming December 9 national convention.

Hon. Andaye Dagidi gave the advice at the party secretariat, Abuja after collecting expression of interest form while declaring his intention to contest the position of ex-officio at the December 9 convention.

He admonished delegates to vote Prof. Adeniran as the next national chairman of the party.

Our Correspondent reports that Prof. Tunde Adeniran and Hon. Andaye Dagidi were at the PDP Wadata Plaza to pick nomination forms for the position of chairmanship and ex-officio of the party respectively.

They stressed the need for members of PDP to choose a chairmanship candidate who has no corruption allegation against him, noting that it is very necessary to consider that factor if the party intends to return to power at the centre in 2019.

Hon. Andaye who was member of the security sub-committee at the last non-elective national convention, stated that in view of what he described as “wild chase of corrupt politicians by the present administration,” the party should go for Prof. Adeniran who he opined has no corruption case against him.

He averred that Prof. Adeniran believes in integrity, discipline and capacity, adding that these are the three cardinal principles that will steer the PDP into victory in 2019.

On why the PDP was defeated in the 2015 general election, Hon. Andaye stated, “out of sheer negligence and selfishness, the beneficiaries of the hard-work and sacrifices the likes of Prof. Adeniran and others put into the party, the party derailed from the ideals of the founding fathers and frittered those opportunities away. As a result of these, the PDP began to lose its seats in subsequent elections. That culminated into the avoidable defeat at the national level and in some states in 2015”.
