Isoko youths protest lopsided FG appointments by Buhari, APC

The youths of Isoko nation, Delta State, have expressed dissatisfaction over the lopsided federal appointments in Isoko nation and urged President Muhammadu Buhari and All Progressives Congress APC led Federal Government to quickly correct the imbalance.

Comrade Emmanuel Akpovoka, an Isoko youth leader, who spoke in Warri, said “ it is on record and verifiable that President Muhammadu Buhari and the All Progressives Congress, APC won only in Isoko South Local Government Area with 10,000 votes and failed in the other 24 local governments in Delta State, at the 2015 presidential election, but despite these facts, the APC has failed to reciprocate the votes, contributions and efforts of Isoko South to the present administration".

Akpovoka disclosed that Professor Sogolo, Chief Saliba Mukoro and Dr. Isaac who have been appointed as board chairmen and members by President Buhari are from Isoko North, and called on President Muhammadu Buhari to consider persons from Isoko South for appointment, who gave him and his party APC the highest votes at the last election.

He commended former member of Delta State House of Assembly, Hon. Benjamin Okiemute, an APC chieftain in Delta state, who singlehandedly delivered 10,000 votes of Isoko South Local Government Area, Delta State, to President Muhamadu Buhari and APC in the entire Niger Delta and South East at the 2015 Presidential election, who up till now he has not been considered for any federal appointment.

“We the Isoko youths are aware that Hon. Benjamin Okiemute, is a strong supporter of Buhari and notable APC chieftain in Delta State, but we appeal to him to remain focus and committed to his vision of attracting federal government presence to Isoko nation and commend his uncommon contributions to human empowerment and development of Isoko nation”.
