Aladja vs Ogbe-Ijoh: Take over disputed land, Gbaramatu leader tells Delta Government
Comrade Sheriff Mulade

Immediate past Chairman of Kokodiagbene Community in Gbaramatu, Warri South-West Local Government Area, Comrade Sheriff Mulade has enjoined the Delta State Government to take over the disputed land bordering Aladja and Ogbe-Ijoh in Udu Local Government Area and Warri South-West Local Government Area respectively, suggesting that Delta State government should establish an institution in the conflict area so as to end the lingering communal crisis.

The call by the Gbaramatu leader and environmentalist is coming barely a week after leaders of Aladja community canvassed for the relocation of Warri South-West headquarters from Ogbe-Ijoh to Ogidigben as possible solution to the dispute.

Comrade Mulade who cautioned politicians and their agents against instigating ethnic crisis, rated Governor Okowa low in terms of performance.

While calling on Dr. Okowa to rise up to the challenge by delivering dividends of democracy to Deltans in 2018, Mulade frowned at the Delta State Government “for not siting any project in Kokodiagbene”, noting that the only Delta State Government projects in the community are  those abandoned by Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission, DESOPADEC.

The environmentalist who spoke to select-journalists at his Gbaramatu country-home weekend, advised governors in the Niger Delta States to “shun rigging and use of money to get power”.

He called for the relocation of National Oil Spill Detection and Response Agency, NOSDRA headquarters to any State in the Niger Delta in order to ensure optimum performance and justice.

The Niger Delta activist accused the NOSDRA DG, Sir Peter Idabor and officials of the agency over their perceived inability to differentiate between crude oil and diesel whenever spill occurs.

He tasked the Federal Government to as a matter of urgency implement the Ogoni clean-up so as to rekindle people of Niger Delta’s hope towards the Buhari administration.
