2019: Run for Warri Federal Constituency seat, Coalition urges Abigor

As the race over who will represent Warri Federal Constituency at the National Assembly come 2019 intensifies, a Coalition of groups in the constituency under the auspices of Warri Federal Constituency Network, WFCN has called on Hon. Godwin Toritseju Abigor to contest for the Warri Federal Constituency seat in 2019.

The Coalition through its representatives, Esimajemite Felix Onesan-President, Okiemute C. Edafe-Secretary and Eselemo Kelvin-PRO, asserted that after careful analysis of the experience and antecedents of Hon. Godwin Abigor, it became imperative to appeal to him to vie for the position.

According to WFCN, “Hon. Abigor’s experience as former Leader of Warri South Legislative Arm in the days of genuine democracy at the grassroots, ex-Special Assistant to former Secretary to Delta State Government, longest serving Director of Protocol to Delta State Government so far and later member of Delta State House of Assembly before the unfortunate Appeal Court decision”, make him eminently qualified to represent people of Warri Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives.

They posited that Hon. Abigor, a “proper Wafarian”, who grew up on the streets of Warri, with a network of Itsekiri, Ijaw and Urhobo friends, “is in a better stead to represent the constituency and not people that cannot be accessed.

In his response, the All Progressives Congress Chieftain, Hon. Godwin Abigor, thanked members of Warri Federal Constituency Network, WFCN and promised to give the request the serious consideration it deserves.

He stressed that his love for the people of Warri South, Warri South-West and Warri North Local Government Areas which makes up Warri Federal Constituency can never be suppressed, no matter the challenges.
