Deputy Unuowodo of Edjeba Debacle: Council of Chiefs, Elders Wade into dispute


The Council of Chiefs and Elders of Edjeba Community in Warri South Local Government Area, Delta State has resolved that the position of Deputy Unuowodo be put on hold until further notice at the instance of the substantive Unuowodo, Chief Michael Ikpuri.

The resolution was reached at the Council of Chiefs/Elders meeting held December 21, 2017 saying that all issues concerning the position and person of Chief Isaac Emifoniye is currently before His Royal Highness, Orhifi II, the paramount ruler of Agbarha Kingdom, Warri South Local Government Area for consideration.

According to the Council of Chiefs/Elders, “the matter is a traditional and community issue, it was wrong to take it to the media for public consumption in the first instance by the former Ohwuvie of Edjeba community, Hon. Marcus Udoyo”.

However, Udoyo have retracted the issue raised in his publication and apologized to the Council of Chiefs and Elders.

Speaking to newsmen at his residence, Hon. Udoyo noted that he has stepped down the matter because of his believe in the capability, confidence and trust on the Council of Chiefs/Elders of the community to ensure that the right thing and decision will be taken.
