Welders and Fitters task three Warri LGAs Chairmen on peace, security

The Chairman of Nigerian Welders Association, Omadino Zone, Comrade Kennedy Ugbameta has congratulated Hon. Michael Tidi, Hon. Taiye Duke and Hon. Aduge Okorodudu on their recent election as the Executive Chairmen of Warri South, Warri South-West and Warri North Local Government Areas respectively.

Addressing pressmen at the Secretariat of the Association, Comrade Kennedy Ugbameta described the victory of the trio at the recently concluded Local Government Area elections as divine, well deserved and a true reflection of the popularity of the three gentlemen.

He stated, “the not too young to rule” advocacy has begun yielding fruits at the grassroots level as this is youngest team of leaders at this level in the history of the State. It is very obvious that this is the birth of a new dawn in Warri Kingdom”

Comrade Kennedy however advised the Chairmen to work very hard to justify the confidence that the people repose on them by their election, noting that the turnout of youths in the said election was unprecedented.

He expressed the hope that the development of youths will occupy a central position in their development plans, as according to him, “this is the only veritable way by which the young people can maintain a sense of belonging in the governance of the country”.  He also enjoined companies operating within the Omadino territory like Chevron Nigeria Limited, Conoil, NPDC, Neconde etc to partner with the Chairmen of these Local Government Areas and the Nigerian Welders Association, Omadino zone for the speedy development of the area.

Comrade Kennedy also urged the Chairmen to focus on creating an enabling environment for industries in the area to thrive arguing that in the recent past many multinational corporation and their affiliates have relocated from the area thereby reducing the hitherto bustling areas to a shadow of itself.

He said that his association was prepared to partner with the Chairmen in their plans to ensure that peace returns to the area. He said that the area boasts of the highest number of young and qualified welders and fitters in the region and that one way to reduce unemployment and crime is to encourage skills acquisition especially those that are functional like industrial welding and fitting which is the specialization of the Nigerian Welders Association.
