Wife of Delta State Governor, Dame Edith Okowa on Friday June 1 met the bail condition of one Promise Okpoun, an inmate of Warri Prison, thus setting him free as part of activities to celebrate her birthday, Fresh Angle International can report.

While admonishing the inmates to shun crime, live right with God and become responsible in the society, she charged them to believe in Jesus Christ and be grateful to God for their lives.

Speaking on behalf of the Governor’s wife, the member representing Warri South Constituency 1 in Delta State House of Assembly, Hon. (Mrs.) Shola Daibo assured the inmates that God has not forgotten them.

Chairman of Warri South Local Government Area, Hon. Michael Tidi, congratulated Dame Mrs. Okowa on her birthday and assured inmates of Warri Prisons of assistance with basic needs in order to ameliorate their sufferings.

Hon. Tidi admonished the inmates to learn skills that can empower them after leaving detention and be good ambassadors to the State and their families.

Comptroller of Warri Federal Prison, Sir Solomon Airiohuodion commended Hon. Tidi for the success of Warri Economic Summit and pleaded for the establishment of Open University in Warri Prison as well as access to education within the Prison environment.
