Rotary Club of Warri gets 40th President, targets N25 million projects

A Community Engagement Coordinator and Communication Management expert, Rotarian Happy Chuks Apai has been invested as the 40th President of Rotary Club of Warri, District 9141.

Rotarian Happy Apai in his acceptance speech shortly after his investiture Saturday September 8, outlined six core projects estimated at N25 million he and his board intends to actualize in the 2018/2019 Rotary year.

He mentioned the areas to include acquiring land for the construction of Rotary Peace Centre in Warri, conduct of human rights and voluntary principles’ training for 40 officers of the Nigerian Police Force in conjunction with Leadership Initiative for Transformation and Empowerment, LITE Africa, completion of work in the ongoing Physiotherapy Centre at Central Hospital, Warri, provision of notebooks and teaching aids to selected schools as well as organization of Spelling Bee Competition for some  Secondary Schools in Warri South, Warri South-West, Warri North, Uvwie and Okpe Local Government Areas.

The new Rotary Club of Warri President also promised to continue with the existing programmes of the Club such as running of Adult Literacy Programme at Ogunu, Warri and the monthly Polio Immunization Programme at Arme Specialist Hospital.

The immediate past President of Rotary Club of Warri, Rotarian Chris Owumi Ojeke in his valedictory speech, mentioned the training of 13 youths in various skills as well as providing starter packs for them, increase in the Club’s membership strength and continuation of Physiotherapy Centre at Central Hospital, Warri.

Highpoints of the investiture of Rotary Apai, included the induction of new members and PHF Decoration as well as raffle draw.
