Exclusive: Irregularities mar SDP senatorial primary, declared inclusive

The Social Democratic Party, SDP Delta South Senatorial primary held in Warri, Delta State on Wednesday October 3, was marred with irregularities and declared inclusive, Fresh Angle International can exclusively report.

Speaking to Our Senior Correspondent shortly after the inclusive primary, one of the aspirants, Dr. Akin Oritseweyinmi Nanna, said out of the eight local government areas that make up Delta South, 15 delegates per local government, totaling 120 were accredited to vote, but he was surprised that during counting of ballots, 158 votes was recorded by the electoral team detailed by the party leadership to conduct the exercise.

Dr. Nanna vowed to pursue his ambition to the National level of the SDP in order to fast-track the process and ensure that a credible primary is conducted for the senatorial district.

Chairman of SDP Ward 5 in Warri North Local Government Area, Mr. Benson Erewa accused the state executive and the National executive of the party of “bastardizing the electoral process”, by trying to rig the primary in favour of a female aspirant.

According to him, some of the votes cast are on video to confirm the alleged rigging attempt.
