Polls: Postponement a deliberate attempt to hijack democracy, pro Okowa group alleges

A group committed to the re-election of Delta State Governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa and other PDP candidates, PDP nBelievers, has taken a swipe at the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, saying the shocking postponement of the Presidential / National Assembly Polls barely five hours to actual voting and the subsequent shift in the date for Governorship / State House of Assembly elections, is "a deliberate attempt to hijack democracy and the will of the people".

The National State Coordinator of PDP nBelievers, Comrade Destiny Noritsegho in a statement made available exclusively to Fresh Angle International in reaction to the postponement, stressed that members of the group will not be deterred in their determination to mobilize enmasse for Governor Okowa's re-election come Saturday March 9 as well as the election of PDP Presidential Candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar on Saturday February 23.

While calling on members of the group, PDP faithful and other Deltans to remain focused, calm and resolute in the resolve to vote PDP candidates, Comrade Noritsegho cautioned INEC to play by the rules and ensure the forthcoming polls are free, fair as well as credible.
