Kogi has no business relying on federal allocations, Idris’s son declares

Peoples Democratic Party Gubernatorial hopeful in the forthcoming Kogi State election, Abubakar Ibrahim, says Kogi, otherwise called the Confluence State, has no business relying on monthly federal allocations with its God-given resources, vowing to make Ibaji, the envy of all local government areas in the state.

Our Kogi State Correspondent reports that Abubakar Ibrahim, who is son of Ibrahim Idris, former Kogi State Governor, made the declaration Sunday June 23, when he took his campaign train to Onyedega in Ibaje Local Government Area.

He described Ibaja Local Government Area as diamond in the rough, adding that, his interest in the “area lies in their rich arable land and available water for all year farming and fishing”.

Ibrahim stated as an agriculturists who is involved in farming, he will make “Ibaji the mainstay of the state's economy” and thanked people of Ibaji for their show of support.

He promised to open up Ibaji to the world with good and motorable roads, electricity, with health care delivery system that would be second to none, if elected in the forthcoming polls.

The PDP front line aspirant, reportedly brought the sleepy town of Onyedega awake as shout of “sai Abuibro” rented the air, with women and youths endorsing his aspiration.

The party leadership and delegates in the area allegedly assured him of their support, hinging their promise on “his capacity, character and outstanding programmes for Ibaji people”.
