My adminstration will focus on security as a catalyst for growth, development' — Aganaba
Engr. Preye Aganaba

Governorship aspirant under the platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Engr. Preye Aganaba said his administration will focus on security as a catalyst for growth and development if elected come November 16, 2019.

Our Bayelsa State Correspondent reports that Engr. Aganaba, who was a member of the President Muhammadu Buhari Presidential Campaign Council, blamed the years of rising poverty, insecurity, poor power supply and poor infrastructural development in Bayelsa State on the continued State Government disconnect with the federal level and opposition politics being played by the People’s Democratic Party, PDP administration since 2015.

He made this known while inaugurating his Governorship campaign Coordinators in units, wards and local government councils of the State, said if the State continue to vote the PDP and sustain its opposition politics against President Muhammadu Buhari administration it will amount to incorrectable mistake and regret, noting that "Bayelsa is in need of APC more than the APC need Bayelsa".

According to Aganaba, though the State ranked among the highest with an average of N12billion monthly allocation accrued to the State, it is not enough to galvanize the poor economy of the State and provide needed development except we reconnect to the Federal Level in order for the Federal Government to share in our burden.

His words, "the N12 billion monthly allocation cannot galvanized the State economy and improve infrastructural development. We need interventions from the Federal Government. We need FG to share in our burden so that the State can grow. Continued romance with the PDP will not go well for Bayelsa. The disconnect occurred in 2015 and the State lost it. I hear many of the Governorship aspirants boasting of what they will do to improve Bayelsa if elected. They should talk about what they have done with the past positions of responsibility as Senator, Governor and others. Some of the aspirants talk big about economy theories. But such theory cannot work without security. The State is in a mess for 18years with the PDP. We must have new people and try new ideas. I have been in the private sector and seen how revenue are generated. Internal revenue is not generated by cutting salary of State workers. Bring in people with investment, create a conducive business environment and with necessary taxation, revenue improves," he stated.

Aganaba, who was in company of his campaign team headed by the Director-General, Barr. Zuwa Konugah, the Director of Contact and Mobilization, Hon. Tuamo Abule, the Woman Leader, Timi Konyan and the Director of Youths Mobilization, Chief Ineye Hagla, described the avanlange of governorship aspirants as commendable but called on them to highlight what they have done in the past to empower Bayelsa indigenes and the State.

On the alleged State Government controlled ban on political campaign posters, Engr. Aganaba described the new policy as 'empty threats', insisting that with proper campaign and mobilization starting on Monday August 5 by his campaign organization, the statte government lack the political will to stop campaign and restrict posters.

He dared the present administration of Governor Seriake Dickson over the alleged controversial removal of campaign posters of some Governorship candidates in the State, saying "let them try it. They cannot remove my posters. APC is here in Bayelsa to win," he stated.
