The Orodje of Okpe, Orhue I has enjoined contestants in the 2016 Miss Urhobo Beauty Pageantry slated for Sunday August 7 at FreshVille Hotel, Okuokoko in Okpe Local Government Area to take their educational pursuit seriously and shun vices capable of destroying their future.

The Okpe Monarch gave the advice at his Palace Tuesday August 2 when he received  Dembaqq Entertainment Production in collaboration with National Union of Urhobo Students, NUUS, organizers of Miss Urhobo Beauty Pageantry.

He gave the contestants royal blessings to enable them succeed in their future endeavors.

In his remark, Co-organizer of Miss Urhobo 2016, Isaac Voke Williams lauded the Orodje, Orhue I for his fatherly blessings, warm reception and introduced the contestants to the respected Monarch.

He solicited the Okpe Monarch’s support and assistance to make the event a huge success as well as ensure its sustenance.

In the same vein, the Chairman of Okpe Local Government Area, Hon. Godwin Ejinyere stated that Okpe Local Government Area is the ancestral home of Okpe people.

The Okpe Council Boss urged the contestants to set the pace for others to follow in terms of conduct and attitude, even as he assured them of his administration’s support.

Hon. Ejinyere commended the organizers of Miss Urhobo 2016 and appealed to the Niger Delta Avengers to stop the bombing of critical National crude oil and gas assets, which according to him is adversely affecting Delta State economy.

The Camp Coordinator of Miss Urhobo 2016, Osama Moxie explained that the event is organized annually to foster peace and unity among Urhobos as well as to promote female graduates of Urhobo extraction with a view to making them better persons in the society.

Our Senior Correspondent reports that The Miss Urhobo Beauty Pageantry team also visited the Warri Area Command of the Nigerian Police as part of their sensitization tour.

The Warri Area Commander of the Nigeria Police, Assistant Commissioner of Police, ACP Mohammed Muazu advised the beauty Queens and the general public to come to the Police for assistance whenever they have security issues, just as he advised the contestants to watch their friends’ attitude, especially those of opposite sex in order to stay away from “evil vices”.

The Police Chief assured the organizers and contestants of adequate protection before as well as during the contest.

Other Officers who were on hand to receive The Miss Urhobo Team include CSP. Zoukumor, second in command, ASP. Daso Oruebu and SP. Ebi Orubiri.

Fresh Angle International can also report that the Miss Urhobo 2016 delegation also had Osodi Kevwe- Camp Supervisor, Akwara Oghenemaro-Secretary and Obugwo Gift Ighosotu-Logistics Manager.
