Former Manchester United forward, Javier Hernandez has revealed the shocking injury he sustained in a ‘domestic incident’ at his home in Germany.
The 28-year-old striker, who moved to Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen from Old Trafford in 2015, has scored 27 goals in 41 appearances for his new club.
Hernandez, yet to make an appearance for Leverkusen this season, managed to break his hand during pre-season after reportedly falling down the stairs.
The Mexican striker underwent successful surgery on the nasty injury earlier this week and took to Instagram to thank his supporters for the good wishes he had received.
‘Hello people. I wanted to make this video to thank you all for your supporting messages, for sending your love and also your good vibe,’ he said.
‘Surgery went well, I had a domestic accident, I fell down the stairs, as you probably already know.
‘But thank God the surgery went perfect and now I have to work hard so that in approximately two weeks I can be back on the field, which I am desperate for. Big hugs!’
Chicharito moved to Germany after falling out of favour under former Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal.
He played 103 Premier Leagues for United during a five-year-spell, scoring 37 goals.
