A tipper driver and father of two children was Saturday September 24 beaten by local vigilante and youths of Jeddo community in Okpe Local Government Area and died hours later following a theft of N25,000.
The man alongside his other accomplice reportedly stole N25, 000 from another male resident of the community in the early hours of the morning, but luck ran out on him when in a bid to escape, some youth of Jeddo in the conjunction with the local vigilante apprehended him and gave him the beating of his lie.
The hoodlum’s accomplice allegedly escaped with the N25, 000, while the suspect died later the same day as a result of injuries he sustained.
As at the time of this report, the other member of the two-man gang believed to be known by residents of Jeddo was still large.
Incidences of theft have become rampant lately in the Okpe community, prompting indigenes, property owners as well as residents of the area to organize local vigilante.
