A group known as Warri Progressive Movement has hailed the Warri Area Commander of Nigeria Police, ACP Mohammed Mu`Azu Yerima for “reducing crime rate in the area”.
President of the group, Olorogun Adegbaro Okiemute gave the commendation at a wedding ceremony in Asaba, saying Mu`Azu Yerima is an exceptional Police Officer whose good working relationship with communities in Warri metropolis was commendable.
Adegbara Okiemute described Mohammed Mu`Azu Yerima as a gallant Police Officer who smashed gangs of violent criminals operating in Warri area.
Olorogun Adegbara Okiemute called on stakeholders to co-operate with the Police in the quest to rid the society of criminal elements.
He described ACP Yerima as a Police Officer who does not ask for what he will gain for serving his country, but what he will do to improve the lots and welfare of the citizens of his country.
President of the group opined that the achievements of Mohammed Mu`Azu Yerima are based on effective feasibility patrol, sustained raids of identified black spots and suspected criminal hideouts.
It was gathered that ACP Mohammed Mu`Azu Yerima who hails from Koroyal in Gwiwa Local Government Area of Jigawa State was enlisted into the Nigeria Police Force in 1992.
He had his Primary and Secondary Education in Northern part of the country and thereafter, proceeded to Bayero University, Kano where he bagged B.A Education.
Mohammed Mu`Azu Yerima left B.U.K and was admitted into the prestigious Usman Danfodio University, Sokoto for his post graduate in Public Administration and Master’s Degree in Public Administration from the same University.
Investigations revealed that ACP Mu`Azu Yerima has served in various Commands in the country, which includes: Sokoto State Police Command, Commandant, Police School, Sokoto, 2IC, State Criminal Investigations Department, Sokoto, Kano State Police Command, Nigeria Police Academy, Kano, Delta State Police Command, DPO, Akwukwu-Igbo, DPO ‘B’ Division Police, Asaba DPO Enerhen, DPO, Ekpan, Lagos State Police Command, DPO Apapa Police Station, DPO, Festac Police Station and presently Area Commander, Warri, Delta State.
Mohammed Mu`Azu Yerima has attended many Seminars, Conferences and workshops in Nigeria and Abroad where he was trained on Community Policing in Houston Texas USA, International Assignments on United Nation’s peace keeping mission and also in Eastimor.
