Pensioners in Kogi State under the auspices of Nigeria Union of Pensioners, NUP, have declared a 7-day fasting and prayers for the State and Local Government pensioners, including retired primary school teachers over non-payment of huge salary arrears, Our kogi State Correspondent reports.
The Kogi State Chairman of NUP, Chief Onuh Abdullahi, in a statement released Monday December 5, said they are praying for all Pensioners, particularly those that have not been able to access their pension for some months, that God should sustain them by opening doors of favor.
The statement prayed God to touch the hearts of their leaders to pay the desired attention to the plight of senior citizens who have spent their useful years in serving their Fatherland and enjoined the pensioners to pray that the peace of God which passes human understanding will reign in Kogi State always.
The statement also directed members of NUP to pray to God to heal all Pensioners that have one health challenges or the other as well as for the repose of the souls of the departed Pensioners.
Fresh Angle International can report that the prayer and fasting will take effect from Tuesday 6th December through Monday December 12 at the local government branches of NUP across the State.
