Ambassador, Youths for Human Rights International, Young Piero has admonished Niger Delta youths  between the ages of 12 and 26 not to confine themselves to what others think of them, but to do thorough soul-searching to discover themselves so as to stand out as successful persons in their chosen career.

He gave the admonition Wednesday December 7 in Warri, Delta State while addressing students of Yonwuren College as part of his campaign to re-orientate the minds of young Deltans to become self reliant, assertive and goal oriented, rather than making themselves easy tools for selfish as well as desperate leaders/politicians.

While giving a brief history of human rights as postulated by the United Nations, Ambassador Piero who gave plaudits to legends such as late Obafemi Awolowo for knowing their rights and fighting for Nigeria’s Independence, revealed plans to distribute Tee-Shirts and 100 UN booklets of ‘What Are Human Rights’ to students of Yonwuren College, Warri and another 100 UN booklets as well as Tee-Shirts to students of Ubeji Grammar School, both in Warri South Local Government Area.

He stressed that no one should be held in slavery, noting that slave trade should be prohibited in all forms across the world.

According to him, Africans pray a lot and forget to work, even as he quipped that Manna will not fall from heaven for those who sit back and wait for things to come to their way without working towards it.

The Guardian Counselor of Yonwuren College Warri, Mrs. Mercy Osandatuwa who spoke on behalf of Principal of the School, commended Ambassador Piero and his team, noting that it was instructive to educative the students on the imperatives of knowing their rights to avoid all forms of abuse and violence.
