Kogi State House of Assembly on Wednesday February 22 okayed the N174.8 billion presented to the House by Governor Yahaya Bello as 2017 appropriation, calling on the executive to ensure its proper implementation.
Our Kogi State Correspondent reports that the budget is over N75 billion higher than the 2016 estimate presented to the State Legislature by the Executive.
The budget break-down shows that recurrent expenditure will take N81.6billion, while the expected capital receipts were put at N93.1billion.
Salaries and allowances are expected to gulp N32.7billion, with overhead cost standing at N25.7 billion.
Chairman of the House Committee on Finance, Appropriation and Budget Monitoring, Mr. John Abah, who presented the committee’s report, stressed the need for the State government to ensure that enough funds were released to MDAs to execute capital projects.
