Atiku promises to move FUPRE to next level

Former Vice President, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar has promised to use the resources within his power to move Federal University of Petroleum Resource, FUPRE, Ugbomro in Uvwie Local Government Area, Delta State to the next level.

Alhaji Abubakar who is the founder of American University of Nigeria, gave the promise while receiving an Honorary Doctorate Degree from FUPRE during its maiden convocation ceremony held Tuesday March 14 at the school premises.

The President-General of Urhobo Progress Union, UPU, Olorongun Moses Taiga who also bagged an Honorary Doctorate Degree, pledged to build a hostel which will be named after him as well as an Information Technology Centre for the school.  

Fresh Angle International can also report that the Ovie of Uvwie kingdom, Emmanuel Sideso Abe I was also conferred with an Honorary Doctorate Degree.

Speaking also to Our Delta Central Correspondent, the Chairman of Ukwani Local Government Area, Hon. Ndudi Osakunih-Izuegbu advised FUPRE to adhere to its goal and maintain their academic performance standard.

She noted that the awards given cuts across the Nation. “From the awardees of today, it is clear that Nigeria is growing. The fact that there are Igbos, Hausa and other tribes, including Urhobos receiving the awards, shows Nigerians are well represented,” the Council Boss affirmed.
