Warri community dissolves exco, elects new leadership

The former executive of Okotomu/Irigbo community in Ode-Itsekiri, Warri South Local Government Area has been dissolved, while a new leadership with Pastor Solomon Bibi was immediately elected and sworn-in by Pa. D.S.T.O Pessu, Fresh Angle International can report.

The decision to elect a new leadership for Okotomu/Irigbo, a community in the ancestral home of Itsekiri people was taken at an enlarged meeting held Tuesday June 27 at Chief Pessu’s Compound and it was reportedly presided over by Chairman of Okotomu/Irigbo Elders’ Council, Pa. D.S.T.O Pessu.

The new leadership which with a four-year mandate has Lucky Ekpedure as Vice Chairman, Newton Okoh as Secretary, Omatoruwa Nanna as PRO and Rieco Sholuwa as Organizing Secretary. Others are: Blessing Egbiaye-Assistant Secretary, Friday George, Omawumi Odeworitse and Queeneth Pessu.

Responding on behalf of the new executive, the Chairman, Pastor Solomon Bibi thanked members of the community for the confidence reposed on his leadership and promised to work with the Elders’ Council in the determination to ensure development of Okotomu/Irigbo community.

He solicited for the advice and support of members of the family, noting that the contribution of all is needed in the quest to move the community forward.

Fresh Angle International gathered that frontline Warri Community Leader and Politician, Hon. Kenneth Efejuku, Secretary to Warri South Local Government, Hon. Nanna Bawo Alex, Mr. Alfred Apoh, Secretary of the Community Elders’ Council, Mr. Douglas Akambe, Mr. Monday Pessu and Mr. Bernard Teshuwa were among dignitaries present during the swearing-in.
