INYC celebrates 2017 World Youth Day with a 7-day value re-orientation programme

The  Itsekiri National Youth Council, INYC,  Worldwide is set to commemorate the 2017 International World Youth Day with a 7-day strong value re-orientation programme  commencing from Monday, August 7,with the theme ‘ The role of youths in Nation Building’.

The Comrade Weyinmi Agbateyiniro-led  Itsekiri apex youth body in a statement in Warri, Delta state signed by Mr. Joseph Uwawah, P.R.O and Mr. Lucky Futughe, Media/IT Director said 2017 event would be dedicated to celebrating young peoples’ contributions to conflict prevention and transformation as well as social inclusion justice and sustainable peace.

According to statement the event is billed to take place at the INYC National Secretariat, Odion road and it is design to put youths in the region in the appropriate state of mind for the challenges ahead noting that ‘it will encourage active youth involvement in the decision making process to ensure responsive, inclusive, participatory good representation at all levels of governance.

Events lined up for the 7-day programme include a sensitization rally, sporting/games, arts/craft exhibition/free medical test and drugs. Other items on the list are talent hunt, honouring Itsekiri fallen heroes and lecture which group of leaders are the problems of the ethnic nationality and Itsekiri people in contemporary Nigeria to be delivered by key resource academics including Prof. Lucky Akaruese and Dr. Ireyefoju respectively

The 7-day event ends on Sunday with a Thanksgiving Service.
