Okowa did not suspend Eghoro Community meetings-Indigenes
Governor Ifeanyi Okowa

Indigenes of Eghoro Community in Warri North Local Government Area of Delta have kicked against the purported suspension of all meetings of the community by the Olare-Aja (Head) and Council of Elders under the pretext that it emanated from Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, Fresh Angle International can report.

Reacting to a publication in The Pointer Newspaper of Saturday July 22, 2017, the Concerned Indigenes of Eghoro, speaking through Messrs John Awowoh, Adeyemi Adoeye and Odah Ajiyen, described the publication as fake and offensive order allegedly signed by one of the Governors’ Aide, Mr. Azino Clement Onaemor.

They claimed it was the handiwork of some aggrieved members of the community former executive, who were allegedly barred from contesting any position in the in-coming executive by the Olu of Warri, Ogiame Ikenwoli.

The Concerned Indigenes maintained that there was no crisis situation in Eghoro as “falsely claimed in the said publication”, saying that all machinery have been put in place to inaugurate the new executive and appealed to the Olare-Aja and entire council of elders to disregard the publication.

They warned all those going from one house to the other to discourage people from attending any meeting summoned by the Olare-Aja and Elders’ Council to desist from their “devilish act or face the wrath of the entire Eghoro Community”.
