The newly sworn-in Chairman of Ode-Itsekiri Community, Employment/Development Committee, Mr. Jonathan Ameye Golly, has vowed that his leadership will eradicate cultism and gambling among youths in the Itsekiri ancestral home, promising to also sustain the monthly environmental sanitation exercise in the Warri South Local Government Coastal Community.

 

 

Mr. Golly who gave the assurance, Sunday June 7 at Ode-Itsekiri, assured that his leadership will make a positive difference and carry everybody along in order to attract development to Ode-Itsekiri Community.

While pledging their loyalty to the Olu of Warri, Ogiame Ikenwoli, elders of the community and the relevant constituted authorities in the task of moving the community forward, Golly solicited the support of the Warri Monarch, Warri Chiefs, elders and the community management committee, to enable them succeed in their assignment.

 

Chairman of Big Warri (Ode-Itsekiri) Community Management Committee, Chief Patrick Yalaju, who performed the swearing-in of the new Employment/ Development Committee, urged the Golly led executive to work harder than the immediate past leadership and be united so as to achieve the goal of developing the Warri historic town.

Speaking on behalf of the Big Warri Community Management Committee, Hon. Bawo Alex Nanna, thanked God  for the peaceful handover and charged youths of the community to remain focus and steadfast.

 

 

While handing over to his successor, the immediate past Chairman of Ode-Itsekiri Community Employment/Development Committee, Mr. Franklyn Eyikimi, described Golly as a gentleman, who should be supported to succeed.

 

 

The Member representing Warri Federal Constituency at the National Assembly, Chief Thomas Ereyitomi, the Uwangue of Warri, Chief Gabriel Awala, former Commissioner for Transportation, Mr. Vincent Uduaghan, Chief Clement Maleghemi, Chief Johnson Yemiete and Prince Stanley Emiko (who represented Itsekiri National Youth Council, INYC) were among the dignitaries that attended the inauguration.

 

While enjoining the new youth executive to be united and work as a team, Prince Stanley Emiko advised them to maintain peace in the community.
