Bateren: My next target is electricity - says Fregene, after completion of hospital, Doctors/Nurses’ Qtrs., road project

Prominent leader of Bateren Community in Warri South-West Local Government Area of Delta State and Chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Prince Moses Orubu Fregene, says his next agenda is to attract electricity to Bateren, before the end of December this year.

Prince Fregene, who was upbeat about the electricity project, told Fresh Angle International at his Warri Office this evening, during an exclusive chat that the member representing Warri South-West Constituency in the Delta State House of Assembly, Hon. Emomotimi Dennis Guwor, was able to push it into DESOPADEC budget, courtesy of his initiative and a 100kv Generator would be installed in Bateren before Christmas.

While disclosing that he was also able to attract the construction and successful completion of a Cottage Hospital to the ancient Itsekiri Riverine community, Prince Fregene added that he equally influenced the execution of Doctors/Nurses Quarters by DESOPADEC, to complement the Cottage Hospital built by Itsekiri Regional Development Committee, IRDC in its 2 ½ project circles.

According to him, Chevron Nigeria Limited is already making efforts to equip the Cottage Hospital with medical facilities.

As part of his short term strategies to boost the socio-economic life of Bateren and lure indigenous as well as external investors to the community, he revealed plans to push for the setting up of modern fish farms in Bateren and to stage the second edition of Bateren Christmas Carnival, come December 25, after initiating the first edition of the event December 25, 2019.

Fregene, a member of IRDC executive, stated that the 0.56meter road project being executed by IRDC at Bateren, is in 70% completion stage, assuring that it would be completed early 2021, while the second phase, which is also 0.56meter will take off immediately.
