First Warri Communities’ anti-cult football tourney ends May 2

The first Warri Communities’ anti-cult football tournament, tagged: ‘2021 Itsekiri Unite Against Cultism and Senseless Killings’, will be rounded off Sunday May 2, Fresh Angle International can report.

The round-robin league competition featuring four Warri urban communities; Ekurede, Okere, Ugbori and Ugbuwangue, began Monday April 26 with Ekurede and Okere settling for 1:1 draw.

Your Soaring International Tabloid understands that the maiden tournament, which is expected to become an annual event, is organized by Joetia Football Club in collaboration with Tybe Synergy International, Kelcarwell Limited and Emitoj Nigeria Enterprise.

 

Players of Okere Community

 

The fixture schedule for the seven-aside games taking place 4pm daily at Olu Palace Field in Ugbori, Warri, is as follows: Monday April 26 (Ekurede Vs Okere) Tuesday April 27 (Ugbori Vs Ugbuwangue) Wednesday April 28 (Ugbuwangue Vs Ekurede) Thursday April 29 (Okere Vs Ugbori  ) Friday April 30 (Okere Vs Ugbuwangue) and Saturday May 1 (Ekurede Vs Ugbori).

Players of Ugbuwangue Community

 

The game played Tuesday April 27 between Ugbori vs Ugbuwangue, ended one goal apiece, while the competition’s final will hold Sunday May 2, between the Group Winner Vs the Group Runner-Up.

Organizer of the competition, Eyebira Tonwe, outlined the rules guiding the games to include: “Maximum of four substitutes for every game by each team, outgoing player will not be allowed to remove or exchange Jerseys with incoming players, two yellow cards will equal one red card and any red card will disqualify that player from the tournament, except reviewed by the officials/organizers. All teams must be properly dressed for their games. Teams must be available thirty minutes (30minutes) before game time and after ten minutes (10min) grace, walk-over will be conducted”.
