Nativity Sunday: We are one, our ethnic difference will make us united-Cleric

Catholics all over the world recently gathered at different Catholic Church Parishes to celebrate what they call Nativity Sunday, otherwise known as the Pentecost Sunday celebrated after the 50th day of Easter.

The programme was organized for ethnic Nationality to showcase different cultural attire to mark the decending of the Holy Spirit upon the Apostles.

Parish Priest of Annunciation Catholic Church, Ogunu, Warri, Delta State, Rev. Fr. Chibuike Ojilere in an exclusive chat with Fresh Angle International, disclosed that Annunciation Catholic Church, Ogunu is a Spiritan Parish, whereby any Rev. Fr. Who oversees the Parish are holyghost filled Rev. Fr. who are spiritans.

He noted that the Nativity Sunday coincides with their anniversary of Annunciation which was founded more than 300 years ago.

The Cleric appealed to all to tolerate one another, noting that “we are one, our ethnic difference will make us united”, adding that every culture should be promoted.

The celebration featured different ethnic groups, dancing competition, food exhibition and drama presentation among others.

The programme organized by the Laity Council of Annunciation Catholic Church in collaboration with each cultural group, among which are: Urhobo led by Julius Uteh, Edo State led by Fredrick Ekuase, Izon led by Onaduku, Itsekiri led by Mr. Tunde Fregene, Akwa/ Cross River led by Engr. Ita Lawrence as well as Ndokwa, Igala, Igbo and Yoruba led by Sir Francis, Peter Agene, Chief Chukwura Emeka and Otunba (Sir) Felix Adeoye (KSJI) respectively.
