We have security breaches in our secretariat, NUJ tells Council Boss

Members of Warri Correspondents’ Chapel of Nigerian Union of Journalists, NUJ, have informed Chairman of Warri South Local Government Area, Dr. Michael Tidi of security breaches they experience in their secretariat, appealing to the Council Boss to assist in stopping the activities of hoodlums terrorizing people of Etuwewe by Deco Area of Warri.

 

Acting Chairman of Warri Correspondents’ Chapel of NUJ, Comrade Okies Veeky, who raised the alarm at the Warri South Council Main Secretariat in Warri, Friday June 7, when members of the chapel paid working visit to the Warri South Chairman, Dr. Tidi, averred, that “ Wafarians are feeling the commendable efforts of the council chairman”.

 

While noting that the essence of the visit was to strengthen the bond between journalists in the area and the council executive, Comrade Veeky opined that 98% of National Newspapers’ Correspondents are in Warri and willing to partner the Dr. Tidi administration in terms of extensive reportage of its programmes as well as activities.

 

Chairman of Warri South Local Government, Dr. Michael Tidi in his response, assured the NUJ Warri Correspondents’ Chapel that his administration, will do everything to address the security breaches reportedly experienced in the area where the NUJ secretariat is situated.

 

He promised to look into the rent challenges of the chapel and enjoined the newsmen to “keep supporting the state Governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa”.

 

Dr. Tidi disclosed that some of the projects executed by his administration would soon be commissioned, adding that plans are underway for the second edition of Warri Economic Summit.

 

The Warri South Council Chief Executive implored the media practitioners to always report the positives of Warri, with a view to selling the right narrative about the Oil City.

 

Chairman of Warri South-West Local Government Area, Hon. Taiye Duke Tuoyo, was in -company of Dr. Tidi when the newsmen visited.
