Why our Stronger Delta Team comprises of technocrats, professionals - Okowa

Delta State Governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, says his ‘Stronger Delta Team’ comprises of technocrats and professionals, because of the desire to fast-track development across the state.

 

Dr. Okowa gave the explanation Saturday July 20 in Warri, during the launch of, "Essays & Lectures on Election Matters”, a book authored by Barr. Akpo Mudiaga Odje.

 

Fresh Angle International can report that the book contains recent Constitutional Amendments as reviewed by Dr. Edward Okumagba of Delta State University, Oleh Campus.

 

Dr. Okowa who was represented at the event by Chairman of Warri South Local Area, Dr. Michael Tidi, said his administration was investing a lot in human capital development, assuring that Warri and Effurun will soon experience massive infrastructural facelift, as a result of the newly constituted Warri, Uvwie and environs Development Agency to be manned by seasoned administrators.

He commended Barr. Odje for concentrating his programmes on the development of youths, promising to partner him on child development and capacity building.

 

In his remarks, a social commentator and columnist, Chief Bobson Gbinije, alleged that lawyers make “disgraceful English blunders in their submissions in court”, describing Nigeria's education as “rubbish in the next one million years, if education is not well tackled”.

 

Barr. Mudiaga Odje alleged that elections in Nigeria have always been fraudulent, hence the book x-rayed measures on how to sustain internal democracy in Nigeria.

 

While describing Dr. Tidi as a detribalized person, Barr. Odje encouraged youths to take education seriously, pointing out that education is what nobody can take away from anyone in life, because it is in-built. 

 

Our Senior Correspondent reports that others who spoke at the event include Mrs. F. I Monyei, who represented Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, the member representing Bomadi Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Julius Pondi, former Speaker of Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Victor Ochei, Engr. Mike Orugbo, Justice Akpofure Onojovwo and Mrs. Ese Osawota.
