The Chairman of Ughelli South Local Government, Dr. Lucky Avweromre, has charged people of Ophorigbala and Iwhre-Okpe Communities in Ughelli South Local Government Area to always maintain peace.
Our Ughelli South Bureau Chief, reports that Dr. Avweromre, gave the charge at the Council Secretariat in Otu-Jeremi, Tuesday November 26, when played host to the people of Ophorigbala and Iwhre-Okpe Communities.
In an address presented by the Council Chairman, Dr. Avweromre admonished the representatives of the both communities, who were on a courtesy visit to his office to always maintain peace amongst them and neighbouring communities so that they can enjoy the developmental agenda of both the state and the local government.

My administration will ensure with the help of the state government that peace is restored to every community, where there are clashes by meeting with the neighbouring communities so that we can broker peace and enter peace accords, that can foster peace and unity amongst our people."
Be rest assured that most of the issues you have brought before me will be keenly looked into and the ones that cannot be taken care of now, will be accommodated in the budget of 2025 as there are 76 communities in Ughelli South all waiting to get the dividend of democracy from this administration".
Earlier in an address, the Chairman of Ophorigbala Community, Mr Daniel Obofukoro on behalf of the people of the community thanked the chairman for his prompt intervention when they had issues with their neighbouring Gbekebor community.
Speaking further, Mr Obofukoro appealed to the Council Boss to help equip the classic health center built by NPDC in Ophorigbala and also employ the services of security men to secure the place and gardener to maintain it.
In another development, speaking on behalf of the Iwhre-Okpe community in Okparabe clan congratulated the Chairman of the giant strides in his 100 days in office and assured Dr Avweromre that the Iwhre-Okpe people aligns with the developmental agenda of the council Chairman and the MORE Agenda of the state government.
He requested the Chairman to use his good office to look into the six-block classroom that has been abandoned in the community primary school and also provide solar water for the community.
Present at the visit is the Secretary to the Local Government, Chief John Ewenede, Hon Tejiri Ejarogan, Hon. Henry Gbejimo amongst others.
