The Chairman of Warri South Local Government Area, Hon. Michael Tidi has disclosed plans by his administration to immortalize late (Mrs.) Omawumi Beatrice Udoh who passed-on while representing Warri South Constituency 1 in Delta State House of Assembly.

Hon. Tidi while stating that the modern abattoir at Pessu Market which was initiated by late Hon. Udoh would be named after her, directed butchers at the market to relate with his office with a view to concretizing the relocation plan.

The Warri South Council Boss who made the disclosure Thursday March 15 when he led his Vice, Mrs. Divine Ann Iniovosa, the Council Supervisor for Environment, Patricia Edun, the Warri South Council Head of Personnel Management, Mrs. Remi Omatsuli and other key functionaries of the Council on a working visit to Pessu Market, assured the traders that he will open talks with the management of Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC on the need to facilitate work on the Pessu Market Road project so as to boost commercial activities at the market.

He promised to explore ways of clearing the water hyacinth that is impeding free flow of movement at the Pessu Market water-side as well as work towards bringing new businesses, especially the sale of second-new clothes to the market.

While directing traders at the market to stop displaying their wares along the road, on top of drainages and make use of their shops, Hon. Tidi ordered  that shops being used by allottees   to store items without any form of trading activities be re-allocated to those willing to trade at the shops.

Fresh Angle International can report that some community leaders and traders who spoke during the visit, expressed delight at Hon. Tidi’s trip which they described as first in a long while.
