Chief Executive Officer Stallion Group, Mr. Anant Badjatya, has announced a donation of N120million to be made by the Charity Arm of Stallion Group, Stallion Empowerment Initiative for upgrade of facilities at the DSC Technical High School and Hospital being operated by Premium Steel and Mines Limited.
He announced the donation today, Thursday October 10, during a facility tour of the company which took the Stallion Group’s team to the DSC Technical High School and the Premium Hospital, Ovwian-Aladja.
Mr. Badjatya expressed satisfaction with the performance of the school in terms of academics, noting that the conduct of the staff and students was excellent and that there was need to encourage the schools towards improved performance hence the donation.
‘’The Schools and Hospital are doing incredibly well and all we want to do is to intervene in areas of need so as to boost the infrastructural demands of the facilities.” he said.
He maintained further that the Premium Hospital, which he noted was one of the best in the locality was getting huge vote so as to procure ambulances, X-ray machines, Laboratory, Ultra-sound machines and other critical equipment required for excellent discharge of services in the health facility, noting that the pharmacy and other sectors of the hospital would receive critical attention from the fund, which he said was the first phase of fund to be released for infrastructure development in the company none-core sector.
He commended Mr. Prasanta Mishra, CEO of PSML for his commitment to the resuscitation plan on the company, emphasizing that the rolling mill was fully operational and the company is in advanced stages for the next phase of investment to restart the SMS which would start producing billets locally once it comes on-stream. He disclosed further that the company was investing over 200m dollars in resuscitating Premium Steel and Mines Limited so as to restore the old glory of the former Delta Steel Company.

PSML executives called on the host communities to continue supporting PSML, as the company is determined to break-even to change the narrative towards a more productive steel development in Nigeria.
"Thousands of unemployed youths would be mopped up from the labour market once the resuscitation programme is completed", Mr. Badjatya added.
Members of the Stallion Empowerment Initiative, the philanthropic arm of Stallion Group including Ms. Arpita Roy Luthra, Mr. John Iyalla and others were with the Stallion Group CEO during the visit.
Principal of DSC Technical High School, Mr. J.E Sido and Chief Medical Director Dr. Olusegun Joshua of Premium Steel and Mines Hospital in their remarks thanked the Stallion Empowerment Initiative team for the visit and the generous donation. The principal assured that the institutions will continue to maintain the profile of excellence which has stood the school out as one of the best in Nigeria.
