2020 Appropriation: School Feeding Programme, N-Power, others to gulp N430bn


Social Housing, Home Grown School Feeding Programme, Government Economic Empowerment Programme, N-Power, Job Creation, CCT and other aspects of the Federal Government Special Intervention Programme, SIP, are to gulp N430bn in the 2020 budget.

 

Fresh Angle International can report that this much was disclosed today, Monday October 14, when the Federal Ministry of Budget gave details of 2020 appropriation already led before the National Assembly by President Muhammadu Buhari.

 

N3bn was provided for security infrastructure in 104 colleges; N2bn take off grant for establishment of 6 Federal Science Technical Colleges; N4.83bn scholarship allowances and N1.61bn payment for over 5000 Federal Teachers Scheme.

 

In the Transport Sector, a total of N67.17bn has been earmarked as counterpart funding for railway projects; including 1. LAGOS-Kano (ongoing) 2. Port-Harcourt-Maiduguri and 3. Ajaokuta-Itakpe-Aladja (Warri) (Ongoing).

 

N17.5bn will be expended for Federal Government National Housing Programme and N30bn for Social Housing Scheme (Family Homes Fund).

 

Breakdown by the Ministry noted further: “SDGs: N40bn for SDGs Intervention Programmes/Conditional Grants; N8.37bn for other SDGs Projects. AVIATION: N1bn for construction of Terminal Building at Enugu Airport; N10bn Construction of 2nd Runway International Airport, Abuja.

 

POWER: N2bn set aside as fund for Mambilla Hydro Power Project; N200m for construction of LFPO/Gas Power Station Kaduna; N150m for Adam Fast Power Programme Accelerated Gas & Solar Power Generation”.
