The Abuja Zonal office of the Economic Financial Crime Commission, EFCC, on Monday, December 23, 2019, secured the conviction of three internet fraudsters before Justice A.O Musa, of the FCT High Court, Abuja.
The convicts are: Emakhu Perfect Odion alias Harry Wilson/Micheal Brown, Chukwuemeka Chanimuya and Oris Karim Ogheneovo alias James Hopkins.
Odion was accused to have cheated various unsuspecting victims to deliver to him the total sum of $4,385 by falsely representing to them that the said sum was for processing of loans.
Chanimuya was convicted for impersonation, falsely claiming to be a national of the Republic of Denmark and thereby obtained the sum of 50,000 Kroner from one Catherine, a citizen of Denmark.
Karim acted as one James Hopkins, a Danish citizen, and induced unsuspecting victims to deliver the sum of N1,250,000 (One Million, Two Hundred and Fifty Thousand Naira) by falsely representing himself to be in a romantic relationship with them and in need of financial help having been involved in an accident.
