Yuletide: Opuoru presents cars to ward chairmen

The member representing Warri South Constituency 2 in Delta State House of Assembly, Hon. Matthew Poko Opuoru, on Thursday December 26 ( Boxing Day) presented two cars to PDP ward chairmen of Okumagba 1 Ward 11 and Igbudu Ward 9 in Warri South Local Government Area, Delta State.

While Hon. Omimi Esquire, Political Adviser to Delta State Governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, presented the Gray Colour Toyota Car to Chairman of Okumagba 1 Ward 11, Chief Ochuko Maduku on behalf of Hon. Matthew Opuoru, a grassroots political leader in the area, Chief WestHam Adehor, handed over keys of the Red Colour Toyota Car to Chairman of Igbudu Ward 9, Emmanuel Dede, on behalf of the lawmaker.

Hon. Opuoru, who's the Chairman House Committee on Trade and Investment in the State House of Assembly, noted that the gesture was part of his broad - based plan to uplift the living standards of his constituents and reward them for the mandate freely given to him during the poll.

He stated that apart from initiating quality legislation and exercising his oversight function, efforts would be doubled to improve the welfare needs of his constituents, especially those that would be productive.

Hon. Opuoru only recently launched an empowerment programme, that would see him spending a total 48 million naira for 200 of his constituents for the next four years, with a view to promoting micro investments.

The two beneficiaries of the cars, Chief Ochuko Maduku and Emmanuel Dede, thanked Opuoru for the gesture, promising to partner him in the task of building PDP at the grassroots and working towards alleviating poverty in the constituency.
