Minimum Wage Implementation : We are sorting out grey areas - Delta NULGE

The Delta State Council of Nigerian Union of Local Government Employees, NULGE, has assured local government workers in the state that they will soon enjoy implementation of the new minimum wage, assuring that negotiations are ongoing to sort out possible grey areas affecting the implementation.

The State President of NULGE, Comrade Zico Okwudi, gave the assurance yesterday in Warri, during the end of year bash organized by De Parliament, a group of council workers with like - minds from Warri South, Warri South - West and Warri North Local Government Councils.

Comrade Okwudi, who was represented by a delegation of the state executive of the union, led by the State Treasurer, Comrade Kingsley Uwaosayemi, commended local government workers in the state for their patience as regards delayed implementation of the new minimum wage.

Warri South Council Head of Personnel Management, HPM, Dr. (Mrs.) Minnie Igbrude, in her remarks admonished local government workers to remain peaceful and show love to one another ahead of the forthcoming NULGE election for branch executives, slated for next month.

Speaker of De Parliament, Engr. Jolomi Gbenebitse earlier assured the state executive of the local government workers' union of the determination of De Parliament to continually foster the welfare and good working relationship amongst workers in the councils.

The State Publicity Officer of NULGE, Pastor Stanley Akogba, prayed for the peaceful conduct of the union's forthcoming election.
