Breaking: COVID - 19 Lockdown records first casualty as soldiers kill man in Warri
The deceased Joseph Pessu

Feelers just reaching Fresh Angle International, say a young man who purportedly resisted overtures of security men to stop his vehicle after long chase, was this morning killed along the Ugbuwangue axis of NPA Expressway, Warri.

The yet - to - be identified young man, alleged to be father of two children, was driving from Ubeji to Ugbuwangue when the unfortunate incident occurred.

Speculation had it that he was chased from Ubeji by security men and flagged down to stop, with a view to identify himself, but continued driving. Not even gunshots on his car tyres, prevented him from moving ahead.

The action of the young man, believed to be from a popular family in Warri, infuriated the security details, who shot him to death.

Meanwhile, the man killed had just been identified as Joseph Pessu.

There had been warning for those who are not on essential duty , to remain indoors during the two - week lockdown period, which commenced yesterday, April 1.
