Lockdown: Delta lawmaker, Opuoru assists constituents with bags of rice

The member representing Warri South Constituency 2 in Delta State House of Assembly, Hon. Matthew Poko Opuoru, yesterday Sunday April 5, donated bags of rice to his constituents, to cushion the effect of the lockdown.

Hon. Opuoru, who is the Chairman House Committee on Trade and Investment, further explained that the gesture was in support of the state government' s effort to prevent the COVID - 19 Pandemic from spreading to Delta State.

According to the lawmaker, while it was necessary for the state government to declare the two weeks lockdown, the donation of the bags of rice to people of the six wards that make up his constituency, was a modest way of giving the Coronavirus preventive measure a human face.

Hon. Opuoru, who was represented by Chief Ochuko Maduku, enjoined Deltans to imbibe the culture of sharing, especially during this period of lockdown, saying living in the spirit of love and unity are also critical factors needed in fighting the COVID - 19 plague.
