The Youth wing of Host Communities of Nigeria (Producing Oil and Gas) Itsekiri Chapter, has given one Curtis Eghosa Ugbo of Benin Solidarity Movement, BSM, maximum 72 hours from Monday April 13, to withdraw his uncouth, disrespectful statement against the Olu of Warri, Ogiame Ikenwoli and apologize to the Monarch and Itsekiri Nation or a tirade of abuse would be launched against the Oba of Benin.
The HOSTCOM Itsekiri Youth Wing in a statement signed by the youth leader, Comrade Mene - Ejegi Gabriel Ajemijeroma and the vice chairman, Westley Madamedon, enjoined the palace of Benin Kingdom to urgently call Curtis Ugbo of BSM to order, to de - escalate the internal strife in Ologbo and the other Itsekiri communities in Edo State, saying attempts by Ugbo to instigate crisis between Itsekiri and Benis with his inflammatory remarks would be counterproductive.
The statement added : "The Oba whose progenitor, Oba Osewende, Ikaye an Itsekiri, founded Ologbo and extra lands was added to Ologbo as a reward for saving Benin Kingdom from Deji Arakale of Akure' s onslaught in 1818 and his chiefs cannot pretend not to know that Ologbo belongs to the Itsekiri, despite being carved politically into Edo State".
Fresh Angle International understands that the ultimatum by the HOSTCOM Itsekiri youth wing came less than 24 hours after another Itsekiri body, Movement for the Protection of Iwere Homelands, Development and History, MPIHDH, reacted angrily to Curtis Ugbo' s tirade.
