A dare devilrobbery incident occurred at Amaforitse street junction by Eboh road in Warri recentlywhen some armed robbers drove an ash color Toyota Camry car to a wholesaledrink shop, came down and open fire on sighting two mobile police men on guard,while about three of the robbers were inside the store collecting monies soldfor the day.
Our Correspondent reports that during the raid, therobbers shot an 18year old girl to death in an attempt to eliminate any of themobile police men that dare to oppose them. It was reliably gathered that another residentof the area was shot on the leg and waist as the robbers chased the mobilepolice men inside the street. Some of the stray bullets hit a water tank, alocking barrier and the wall as well as the planks within.
Eyewitnessestold FreshAngle that police officers from ‘B’ Division who were called to rescuethe situation only came after the robbers left.
In a relateddevelopment, two mobile policemen were the same day shot dead by some group ofarmed robbers at the Mciver end of Warri, dispossessing the mobile policemen oftheir guns.
