The Chief Security Officer, CSO of Federal University of Petroleum Resources, FUPRE, Ugbomro in Uvwie local government area, Delta State, Lt Col A A Adedokun (Rtd) has admonished students of the institution to shun cultism and focus on their academic activities.
Lt Col Adedokun gave the admonition shortly after the inauguration of the newly elected speaker of FUPRE students’ legislative house held recently at the Institution.
In an address, the Dean of Student Affairs in FUPRE, Rev. Fr. Joachim advised students of the school to maintain good conduct and avoid acts capable of preventing them from attaining their academic goals.
Rev. Fr. Joachim who was represented by a senior lecturer in the department of physics, Dr. Onifade Yemi also cautioned students to always adhere strictly to the Institution’s rules and regulations.
In a remark, the newly elected speaker of FUPRE legislative house, Comrade Alexander Amos vowed that no student in the Institution is involved in cultism and other social vices.
Amos, a 500 level Marine Engineering student also stressed the need for FUPRE students to take their studies seriously.
