Breaking: Navy uncovers illegal refineries in Bennett Island, Uwakeno


The Nigerian Navy Ship, NNS Delta, this evening announced the discovery of a newly constructed illegal refining site around Bennett Island, Ugbodede and another illegal refining site around Uwakeno, both in Warri South Local Government Area of Delta State.

 

A statement by the Navy, revealed that five ovens, five coolers and eight surface metal storage tanks laden with 943.3 barrels of product suspected to be crude oil was confiscated during the operation by NNS Delta personnel at Ugbodede.

 

The NNS Delta team also confiscated four ovens, four coolers, six surface metal storage tanks and two pits laden with 10,000 litres of products, suspected to be illegally refined AGO ( Diesel) & 440.2 barrels of stolen crude oil at Uwakeno.
