A Nonagenarian, Pa. Richwell Achenuwa, has been appointed the new Olare-Aja (Head) of the historic town of Koko, headquarters of Warri North local Government Area in Delta State.

 

Fresh Angle International understands that Pa. Achenuwa, who is 97 years old, succeeds the late Emeritus Aganbi, as head of the sprawling town.

 

Report says Pa. (Apostle) Achenuwa, was pronounced as the Olare-Aja on Wednesday July 22, by the elders of Ugogomeje of Koko, otherwise known as the Iweroko and Ameren families (owners of Koko land) led by Mr. Tonukarin Ajofodin, representative of the Eburu family stock.

 

The family members who reportedly trouped to the resident of the new Olare-Aja, include Chiefs Prestin Udueyin and Tony Ede from the Palace of the Olu of Warri. Others are Prince (Sir) Sunny Omatseye; the Community Legal Adviser, Barr. Wilson Alatsha; Mr. Edward Diabo and the Community Secretary, Dr. Eric Mcgrey.

 

In his acceptance speech, Pa Achenuwa, solicited the cooperation of the entire community in order to achieve peace within members of the Ugogomeje and the entire community, promising to work with members of the elders’ council as well as other members of the Iweroko and Ameren families. 

 

The Community Secretary, Dr. Eric Mcgrey, promised to furnish the Olare-Aja with a copy of the constitution guiding the town and schedule of meetings of the elders’ council, which Pa. Achenuwa is now the head/chairman.

 

Amongst the members of the Elders’ Council present are Messrs Samuel Esijolomi Itor, Thompson Okotie and Mr. John Eguando.

 

Other dignitaries that witnessed the momentous occasion include Pa. Emmanuel Eyere Kpenosen, Pa. Johnson Ebisanine, the Olori Ebi of Olomu designate, Mr. Glory Egbe, Desmond Tosan Oyowe, Vice-Chairman of the Olomu Descendants, David Ofofo, Secretary of the Olomu Descendants, Peter Edun Mene, Anthony Oyaide, Shuwa Jiringho, David Atie (Secretary KCMA), Madam Roli Kpenosen (Iron Lady of Koko) and the Chairman of the Koko Human Resources Development Council, Mr. Gbesimi Amurun.
