The Sekiri Hausa of Warri and Environs, HRH Alhaji Bello Mohammed, says what led to the celebration of Eid-el-Kabir, was when God gave Ibrahim a White Ram, after Ibrahim offered his son, Ishmael for sacrifice as promised.
Alhaji Mohammed gave the explanation Thursday July 30 at the Hausa Quarters, Warri in Delta State, when the member representing Warri South Constituency 2 in Delta State House of Assembly, Hon. Matthew Poko Opuoru presented bags of rice to the Muslim community in Hausa Quarters, Warri, as part of his support towards the peaceful celebration of Eid-el-Kabir.
The Arewa Community in Warri Monarch, described Hon. Opuoru as their, “umbrella” who was the first to come and identify with them in the Eid-al-Adha celebration.
The Etsu Nupe of Warri and Environs, Alhaji Zuberu Tajudeen, prayed for the lawmaker and stated that he would go higher politically.
One Mohammed Danjuma, who was apparently enthralled with the largesse of Hon. Opuoru, stated that the one –time Commissioner in DESOPADEC, made him convert to PDP from the All Progressives Congress, APC.
According to Danjuma, the leadership style of Hon. Matthew Opuoru, “is hard to find” in Warri.
Hon. Matthew Opuoru, who is the Chairman, House Committee on Trade and Investment in the State House of Assembly, in his remarks, wished Muslim faithful in his constituency and other parts of the country a peaceful Eid-el-Kabir celebration, assuring that he would continue to provide quality as well as even representation to his constituents.
